RACE 1: GREATFIVEEIGHT

None of these makes appeal but a speculative vote goes to GREATFIVEEIGHT. He is the best at distance, is it time for S.Rama to make amends? He badly needs it with his entourage starting to lose faith in him. REDWOOD VALLEY is one the most consistent and the Bussunt/ Maingard combo can make it again. It won’t be a surprise if DAREDEVIL AVIATOR repeats his last race.

RACE 2: SILVER HERITAGE

KING OF TARA would have been unbeaten if the jockey was more inspired on his first outing. His connections are confident of a second win as the horse’s condition improved more and won’t give in without a fight. SILVER HERITAGE is the main threat, caught three wide almost the whole of his last race finished very well. Even the trainer of the winner ROMANUS on that day mentioned him in his comments. The reason why R.Maingard is so keen to bring P C ORFFER is to get rid of the uncertainty of the local riders, whoever beats SILVER HERITAGE wins the race.

RACE3: ———

ROMANUS had a very hard race and still managed to win. This might prove an easier task with a smaller field. C.DABY rate BEST DAY OF MY LIFE better than ROMANUS but the jockey does not inspire trust. CAMP DAVID should run a better race and one for the future.

RACE4: LUMBER JACKAROO

C.SEGEON has personally supervised the training of LUMBER JACKAROO and is ready to strike. A promising sort and with a plum draw would be hard to go past. TEXAS SKY and IRON WOLF would battle upfront and would benefit a finisher. The ever-reliable MOSCHINO will be also in the mix.

RACE 5: OVATION AWARD

Voices are being raised in the G.ROUSSET stable over N.JUGLALL and he is facing the axe. Some are even saying it’s his last chance to convince the members. OVATION AWARD has been freshened up and should score after an epic battle against RED MARS. Beware of SPRING MAN who can emulate SKIP THE RED with a plum draw and S.BUSSUNT on board. THE GREY CRUSADER has been knocking at the door and the RG stable have a silent hope that he can reproduce a MAN FROM SEATTLE type win.

RACE 6: EHSAAN

We all know EHSAAN defeat last time was not digested by the GUJADHUR stable. Even though J.Bardottier had a very good association with them, they were not happy with his ride. TRIPPI’S EXPRESS is an improving sort and highly rated by his yard, did nothing bad so far and D.David will try to get the first run as he will be in the box seat. N.Juglall needs to deliver, his neck is on the line, a good run from TOWER OF WISDOM will help his cause.

RACE 7: BARITONE

In a tactical contest, BARITONE will be a hard nut to crack. He is the horse who has the best acceleration burst on the island. TABLE BAY who is a classy horse but the 1400 meters might sharp for him. R.Joorawon is confident to stir home and will move early. WALL TAG would most likely lead and will try to reduce it to a sprint.

RACE 8: VAR EXPRESS

It’s hard to go against VAR EXPRESS. He was so impressive last time and faces an average field. R.Joorawon and Gujadhur should dominate this day, Ramapatee Gujadhur will bring at least three winners. AFTER THE ORDER is the best of the rest and might benefit from having the first run over his opponents. AMANDLA is one for the future and should have an improved run.

RACE 9: JUSTINIAN

A winning debut for JUSTINIAN is well in his reach. A lightly raced horse who will make sparks in Mauritius might be too strong in this field. MR MOGAMBO is a bit of a puzzle, unless he discovers his form of his second race it can be complicated for him with an outside draw. DOUBLE GRATITUDE and DOUBLE GAMES are the dark horses in the race. Their performance will be an indicator of what they can offer in the future.
