RACE 1: NEW ABBEY

The first race is quite open, it is quite a competitive field for a 0-20. BIRTHDAY BOY is expected to run an improved race. His connections will be watching for any progress but doesn’t have big hopes for a win. He will take the lead and will see how far he can resist. SECRET IDEA beaten favorite last time out, will be tough and I.CHISTY continues to disappoint. TAKE OFF MODE had a tough race behind EL PATRON, but still finished nicely. He will be there again. N.NARANG is confident for a win. NEW ABBEY has been prepared for this race, his entourage has prepared the horse to kill. His previous runs were to give him stamina, he will be a different horse this time. J.ALLYHOSAIN is confident to make his fan club happy. One to watch is FREDDIE FLINT, if there will be it be him! 

RACE 2: LADY’S KNIGHT

DAREDEVIL AVIATOR has been super consistent, and should a good race. The stable does not give a first chance this week. SIR CAPERS has been unlucky in his last outing and won’t give up without a fight. C.SEGEON makes him his best chance the day, and promised to bring him home. LADY’S KNIGHT will run an improved race, and why not a second win for N.BATCHAMEAH after BOUND BY DELIGHT sweet win. All seems to be indicating it will be the second win for him before C.ORFFER’s comeback. NAPOLI has a big chance this time, his connections have a silent hope he can make it. N.NARANG believes his protégé will get a win in this field.

RACE3: COPENHAGEN

COPENHAGEN should lead in this race, and after B.FAYD’HERBE misadventure last week it won’t take him too long to win again. If given a soft lead, it will be hard for the others to catch up. The jockey is confident for a win, but the stable is a degree less. It’s one of the best races on the card with VAR EXPRESS, BESTDAY OF MY LIFE and KAYDENS PRIDE. VAR EXPRESS has been nothing less than impressive, but with the recent turbulence in the GUJADHUR yard the mood is not there. KAYDENS PRIDE might need to dig deep again for a win. BESTDAY OF MY LIFE, is highly esteemed by his yard but hard to trust I.CHISTY these days.

RACE4: DYNAMITE JACK

DYNAMITE JACK is the horse to beat in this race. With an in form D.DAVID he can definitely make it two in a row. SEATTLE KID will be his main threat, often badly ridden he should have more than a win this season. I.CHISTY rides will be scrutinized once more, it will be good to see why C.DABY brought him as up to this point it seems a bad investment. DRIVEN FORCE is a very decent horse, but will need to down the benchmark to score.

RACE 5: ALL ABOUT THE BASS

Many were left speechless, after the poor show of J.ALLYHOSAIN on ALL ABOUT THE BASS. His uninspired ride was much talked around the island, some were saying there’s something different about J.ALLYHOSAIN. More surprisingly it seems everything was done to favor NORTHERN SPY. Well, it’s another day and ALL ABOUT THE BASS should prove irresistible this time, hoping the dark forces do not pull the trigger this time again. CHOIR OF ANGELS has not been training that well and there won’t be a three in a row. HARMONICA will visit the winning enclosure this year.

RACE 6: PATROL OFFICER

PATROL OFFICER is in the form of his life, and will take the power of beating. He has been so impressive it will be tough to resist him. RED MARS is an excellent sort and has given an entire satisfaction. The S.JONES crew will be trying a coup a la IDITAROD TRAIL. It will be harder this time but will be running in the money. SPRING MAN will be harder for him with an outside draw. The rest does not inspire much.

RACE 7: WHITE RIVER

A rather disappointing field as not many horses engaged in the Maiden cup. It seems the champion WHITE RIVER is scaring everyone and they are right. At this point it’s better to predict the quartet. WHITE RIVER in the first place, second ALSHIBAA, PERPLEXING and in the last place MADE TO CONQUER. Nothing much to say here, just witness an incredible horse that we are lucky to have on the island. MADE TO CONQUER won a couple of races with B.FAYD’HERBE on a board, but that was a time when he was a young gun, things have changed since then.

RACE 8: CARLAS MAMBO

TARANAKI deserves to win a race this year, a class dropper he has the ideal conditions to make it first the post. Drawn from the ace, no excuses this time. N.JUGLALL is off the hook for now, and another win would turn the public more on his side. The connections of CARLA MAMBO is super confident on their chances. They don’t fear anyone and they are pretty sure he will run a cracker. Likewise jockey B.BHAUGEEROTHEE seems to have the trust of the S.JONES stable these days to deliver. MASTER JAY made an eye-catching debut, but with all the uncertainty surrounding the GUJADHUR stable, it seems the mood is not there and they were not even present in the Maiden Cup draw ceremony! One to watch is PRIDE ROCK, I.CHISTY had the art to win on less fancied horses last year.

RACE 9: THE FORERUNNER

It should be a simple affair for THE FORERUNNER, he will be in the box seat and should dispose of his opponents quite easily. V.ALLET makes him the best chance of the day, and expects nothing less than a win. Is it the last race of ANZA-BORREGO under the colors of P.NAGADOO stable? There are certain rumours that there is a faction who are unhappy how things are being handled and they might walk away. If there is one to beat the favorite it will be him. The rest will need to do a lot to feature.
